Many minerals and vitamins sold in New Zealand supermarkets, some pharmacies and online are very cheap. Why is this the case? I decided to look at a typical popular brand on the market and compared it to our CAA-Multi-mineral and vitamin.
Why are they so cheap?
The price is kept low by using some lower priced, and unfortunately low absorbable nutrients, also by massive bulk manufacturing runs overseas.
New Zealand cannot compete with these massive overseas manufacturing runs, but we can concentrate on quality and formulate a complete multi-mineral/vitamin for New Zealanders unique nutritional needs. This also supports local jobs and supports our New Zealand economy.
Cheaper multis are often sold as large, oblong tablets rather than standard-size capsules like our Health House CAA-Multi. Tablets are much cheaper to produce, but in return, tablets limit the amount of nutrients contained because of the binders necessary. These binders can also affect the absorption of minerals and vitamins.

How does the quality of ingredients compare?
I’ve compared the ingredients of CAA-Multi with the ingredients in cheaper minerals/vitamins and there were major differences.
These differences are quite technical and not always apparent at a quick glance. Sometimes it is the type of ingredient and other times it’s the amount of the ingredient, but sometimes the nutrient is omitted. Getting all this right is what makes CAA-Multi so effective and our top-selling product.
In particular, it is important to include critical minerals such as boron, silica, sulphur, magnesium, iron, copper, chromium, vitamin D and very importantly vitamin B12.
